I started out in the 90's using manual and semi-automatic Minolta cameras, and then moved to a Nikon DSLR (D70s) in the mid 2000s. Digital photography brought so many new possibilities and allowed me to learn far more quickly than I could have done with film, as well as allowing me to try videography, but I still appreciate having learned with a manual film camera! In 2018 I was an early-adopter of the nikon mirrorless systems with the Z7, and while it took a while for the first generation Z cameras to 'mature' through firmware updates, I have been blown away by advantages that come with mirrorless - I'm very happy I made the switch! Now in 2023, I've been fully Z-mount for a year and am delighted to be using the flagship Nikon Z9 with my dream lens, the Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S with the built in 1.4x teleconverter :)
